Workshops Address Common Parental Concerns: · Parents don't know how or when to get started in the process. · They want the best for their child, but they are not sure how to achieve that. · They are concerned that their child won’t get into the college of their choice · They want to be in control, yet have limited knowledge of the complete process.
Because of heavy workloads, public high school counselors don’t have time to help the parents of all the students they work with everyday. Our workshops were designed to answer the important questions from parents who need help in understanding the process and their available options. Together we have been counseling students in all aspects of the college admissions process for more then 20 years at Lynbrook and Monta Vista High Schools. Both of us have presented dozens of college planning workshops to parents and students offering our specialized knowledge and unique insights into what can be a very confusing process. Our professional credentials include post graduate certificates in College Admissions Advising from the University of California, Berkeley Extension and memberships in the National Association for College Admission Counseling, the Western Association for College Admission Counseling and the Higher Education Consultants Association. We regularly visit colleges and universities to maintain first hand contact with admission officers and keep abreast of the latest admission policies.
